Over the last two summers, Benita has taken advantage to train in Norway at a unique camp with the best juniors from around the world.

Introduction to Cross-Country Skiing:

Benita got involved in cross-country skiing when she was four years old. She would regularly ski with her parents and the young athletes who were part of a community cross-country ski program which has led to lasting friendships.

Benita loves the competitive aspect of cross-country skiing while getting the opportunity to travel the world, meet new friends and see how she measures up against new competitors each time she hits the start line.

She ultimately hopes this path will lead her to one day competing on the World Cup circuit for Canada.

Personal:

When not training or competing, Benita enjoys mountain bike and also testing her hand in biathlon. She currently attends the University of Calgary where she is taking general studies. She also enjoys coaching younger kids in the Jackrabbit program during her spare time throughout the winter.
