Canadian Masters Ranking List
The Canadian Masters Ranking List (MRL) is a national ranking tool for Masters athletes. At the request and initiation of The Canadian Masters Cross Country Ski, the Masters Ranking List allows eligible masters athletes to be nationally ranked as part of a Competition for Life philosophy. The new Masters Ranking List will be available to all Master age categories who have current Nordiq Canada and Canadian Masters racing.
The first competitive season will purposely stay with a small number of events where master skiers can be ranked. Our objective is to start small and continuously improve the Masters Ranking List to include ski clubs and resorts interested in hosting nordic events across Canada. Visit the Masters Race Calendar for the included events for the 2024-25 season.
Race points are based on the same pricipals as the Canadian Points list of a skier’s time behind the race winners time, taking into consideration the depth and quality of field. International FIS races and domestic race results are taken into consideration. To understand the methodologies behind the MRL and the CPL, visit the Document Centre.
Masters’ Ranking List reports are interactive. You can sort the list by name or rank and click on a racer’s license number to see the races under consideration.
Nordiq Canada encourages athletes and coaches to check the lists for accuracy. If you have any concerns with points or race results, please contact Nordiq Canada at .
Why is Nordiq Canada doing a Masters’ Ranking List?
At the request and initiation of The Canadian Masters Cross Country Ski Association, Nordiq Canada have been collaborating over the last year to create a new Masters Ranking List for Master skiers to be eligible for a national ranking as part of our Competition for Life philosophy. The new Masters’ Ranking List will be available to all Master age categories who have a current Nordiq Canada and Canadian Masters racing licenses.
What is the difference between the CPL and MRL lists?
The Masters’ Ranking List is separate from the CPL List. Although based on the CPL calculation and points system, the MRL is a standalone ranking list that is based on a very select list of events.
The MRL points do not go towards the CPL>0 clause for Nordiq Canada Selection Trials or Nordiq Canada Ski Nationals.

Have a question – who do you contact?
Contact your Ski Division office.
I am an organizer – what do I need to know?
- All Tier 3 events will continue to follow the same sanctioning requirements – sanction online, Technical Advisors and safety requirements.
- As many events already use Zone4 for timing, the mining of results is easy from the Zone4 end for the event.
- For those not using Zone4 timing Nordiq Canada we will share a template for results.
- NO points accumulated at the Tier 3 event would contribute to the regular CPL points list.
