Schedule Update, Olympic Trials Jan 5 – 11

January 01, 2022

Please note the race schedule for Olympic Trials (Jan 5 – 11) has been updated in the best interest of safety

Thursday will now be Skate Sprints for Trials racers. Women will complete the qualifier then all of their sprint heats after a rest period.  Following the Women’s finals, the men will compete based on the same pattern in order to minimize the number of racers at the venue at one time.  This same pattern of running a full set of races by gender for Open and U20 will be used throughout the Trials races.

The Alberta Cup 3 & 4 will now include both classic (interval start) and skate technique (mass start).

These changes will be reflected on the updated Race Notice and Zone4.ca registration.

If you have already registered, the Race Secretariat will update your registration accordingly:

  • For the Open or U20 categories – if you registered for Saturday sprints, your registration will be updated to show that you are now registered for Thursday sprints and if you registered for the Thursday Classic race, your registration will be updated to show that you are now registered for the Saturday Classic interval start.
  • For all other categories, if you registered for the Saturday skate race, your registration will be updated to show that you are now registered for the Saturday classic race.

Given the lack of indoor facilities and COVID-19 restrictions, all participants are reminded to “Arrive, Train/Compete, Depart” the Canmore Nordic Centre.

The registration deadline remains January 2, 2022.
