Why is there a new system?
Nordiq Canada’s previous official’s database is no longer supported by our servers and platform. In response to feedback from our community, our new system:
- Enables officials to more effectively track their progress in the pathway,
- streamlines event sanctioning with the logging of official experience, and,
- allows divisions to monitor Safe Sport requirements and which officials are active within their areas for development and insurance purposes.
Will my certifications remain?
Yes! We will transfer data in two phases. The first phase will include the individual’s name, contact information, division affiliation, and highest level achieved. The second phase will involve transferring all certifications and individual experiences from five years ago and earlier.
Why only 5 years?
Assignments done past five years are not applicable to the official development pathway in terms of maintenance of certification, though the experience is valuable to the official’s personal learning. There was also no consistency of recording for event nomenclature which makes the transfer to the new system very challenging. From a logistical and financial standpoint, importing experience from all time would be a considerable undertaking and a very expensive endeavour.
My certification and/or my experience is less than 5 years old, and I still cannot see it, what should I do?
Where is the Officials Level 1 course?
The NEW Official’s Level 1 workshop is housed in The Locker (coach.ca), under e-learning and cross-country skiing. Access the course using your existing NCCP #, or by creating a new account (do not create a new account if you have one for coaching).
