2025-2026 National High Performance Program and AAP Carding Nominations
Congratulations to the athletes who have been nominated to the National High Performance Program based on the criteria outlined in the Nordiq Canada National High Performance Program Selection Criteria 2025-26 and to those who will be nominated to Sport Canada to receive AAP carding under the Athlete Assistance Program Selection Criteria 2025-26.

2025-2026 Para Nordic National Ski Team and AAP Nominations
Congratulations to the following athletes who have been nominated to the Paralympic stream of the National Ski Team based on the criteria outlined in the Para Nordic Canada National Ski Team (PNST) Selection Criteria 2025-26 and to athletes who will be nominated to Sport Canada to receive AAP carding under the Para Nordic Athlete Assistance Program Selection Criteria 2025-26.

Nordiq Canada 2026 Olympic Winter Games Trials Update 
The following decisions have been finalized for the Nordiq Canada 2026 Olympic Winter Games Trials:

Location: Prince George, B.C.
Dates: Dec 12-16, 2025
Event Schedule:  

Dec 12 – Official Training

Dec 13 – Sprint C

Dec 14 –10k Classic

Dec 15 – Official Training

Dec 16 – 10k Free

Nordiq Canada will continue to consult on race formats and will confirm these in an upcoming communication.
Event Priority Ranking for Olympic Team selection:  

Priority 1: 10k Free

Priority 2: 10k Classic

Priority 3: SP Classic

Event Wax Protocol:  

Nordiq Canada will continue to evaluate whether a wax protocol will be implemented for the event.

This decision and related details will be shared in a future communication.

NWSDA Grant Applications Open

The National Winter Sports Development Association (NWSDA) grants are a financial assistance opportunity aimed at supporting the development of internationally competitive Canadian athletes in cross-country skiing.

Application deadline: June 5, 2025.

Nordiq Canada Awards – Nominations are due May 5. 

So far only 3 nominations have been received.  Do you know someone who should be nominated?

For over 30 years these awards provide national recognition to Canada’s most impactful people in our cross-country ski community.

Dave Rees Award

Awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding long-term commitment to cross country skiing in Canada.

Firth Award

Awarded to a woman who has made an outstanding contribution to cross country skiing in Canada.

Distinguished Volunteer Award

Awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to cross country skiing.
